Beauty

After 2 very cold weeks, we were blessed with an amazing day to photograph this beautiful mama!
I had alot of fun playing with my new background lighting in the studio,
and then we ventured out to get some photos of her in her element, the great outdoors.
Her smile lights up the room, she is beautiful inside and out, her light shines right through the lens!

Christmas Fun

Just wanted to share some of the Christmas photos that I've taken this past month.
Sweet boys reading the Charlie Brown Christmas story.
Darling mom and daughter, love her beautiful personality!
I learned a new word....bokeh! The best part was when I figured out how to capture an image of my daughter with the beautiful globe-like bokeh light on the Christmas tree behind her.
I love my husband's reaction when I have a lightbulb moment like that!

Family Portraits

Since the weather can be so fickle this time of year,
we did a family session in the studio today.
Love this couple and their sweet girls!

Moose!

It was one of those mornings that I had a strong push to take my camera along for my walk.
To my delight I came across a bull moose, cow and calf. I felt quite nervous at first because it is rutting season and when I noticed them the bull was really quite close to the path but thankfully fully engrossed in munching on the abundant dogwood.
As we looped around the pond listening to the honking geese, we happened upon a mallard resting on a rock. They are one of the most beautiful ducks we have in Alberta.
I am thankful to live in a city that has maintained beautiful and abundant green spaces for us to enjoy.

Fall Changes

As the fall season is constantly changing, there is something beautiful to see every day!
Beautiful gold colors of grass lining a little creek, and evidence of a beaver preparing for winter.
The sun muted by an overcast sky this morning gave an eerie backdrop to this tree
that has lost all it's leaves.
A little red-breasted nuthatch gave me a moment to capture a quick photo before flitting
off back to the birdfeeder.

Waiting for another addition!

We had a perfect afternoon Saturday for family photos.
It is such a privilege to be able to work with this wonderful family again!
Always so much fun together :)
They are all excitedly anticipating an addition to their family and mom is absolutely radiant.

Sweet Princess's First Birthday

We got a real bang for our buck today with a beautiful morning.
It was nice enough to capture pumpkin photos at the same time we did first birthday ones.
I would have to say this beauty much preferred playing outside in the leaves and ladybugs!

Cool Fall Days

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon for family photos this past weekend.
There was a little snow on the ground that quickly melted away as we spent time together.
Love this beautiful family complete with sweet Mia that did awesome with her humans.
