Beautiful Southern Alberta

Just wanted to share a few of my favorite images from our adventures
in Southern Alberta this past week.

A little bit of everything

I recently finished up the 3 session in the digital photography course at our local college
and wanted to share some of the things I've been working on that I'm really proud of.

I'm so thankful for my husband's encouragement and for these three beautiful kids of mine who endlessly were being asked to pose for mama to practice.
Caleb helped me with proper exposure.
Jesse helped me with light painting and using a second curtain flash.
Faith helped me with monochromatic picture style and use of flash to compensate for back-lighting.

These storm clouds looked like a mountain range across the sky.

In Drumheller I saw this cool sculpture and I wanted to create an image that made you feel like you were looking in on a real prehistoric creature jumping out of the water.

The only good thing about recent forest fires in BC are the amazing sunsets that have resulted.

The lighthouse on Sylvan Lake at sunset.

Our beautiful ripe canola fields on a cloudy day.

My mom's doodle-oodle doggy.

Using exposure bracketing on my beautiful bea-balm flowers.

Both the phone booth and bird bath in the park are High Dynamic Range merge of 3 images.

I used high auto light priority and spot metering to achieve this; one of my favorites.

These last two were the most fun, I shot them in raw file format
and played with them in Photoshop to get the vibrant images that I desired.

Hope you all enjoy!
Thanks for checking out my recent work.
